I have been teaching at Santa Clara University in the Department of English since 1980 and can be reached there (sbillingsATscu.edu) rather than through Classmates.

as a member of the choir at one of the Masses. I've taught in summer student abroad programs in Northern England (at Durham University) and given workshops in the teaching of writing in both the Eastern Caribbean (Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Kitts, and Grenada) and in Beijing, China, as well as presenting papers at various national conferences. I've been blessed to have received the University-wide Brutocao Teaching Excellence Award in September 2017.
I've been married since 1975 and am child-free. I've run a couple of marathons (sub-4) and continue to play pick-up basketball at SCU besides jogging with my dog.
