Skip's Story
After high school I attended Sacramento City College & Sacramento State College. I married Bev Horizumi in 1984 and we had two daughters, Malia & Noelani. We now have three grandchildren, Luna, Kairi & Killian. I did my student teaching at Sacramento High and coached there with Coach Dillon & Coach Hotel until Dave passed away in 1985. I then moved to Kennedy High School to teach & coach football. I was fortunate to be able to coach with Coach Deloach & Garcia.

hing at CB since then. My football coaching days winded down as I have gotten more and more involved in teaching windsurfing; I retired from coaching in 2017. I'm the head windsurfing instructor at the CSUS Aquatic Center & teach windsurfing & wind foiling for ABK Boardsports. Through windsurfing I have visited some amazing places in the States & around the world.
My sister Toni, class of '76 passed so that has added to my decision to start slowing down and spending more time with my ohana.
Retired from JFK on June 18, 2021.
The world feels much smaller now. I lost my wife Bev on May 26, 2026.
