Skip's Story
I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University (BA in Sociology) in 1967; Th.M. from Boston University School of Theology in 1971. I was ordained in the New York Conference of The United Methodist Church in 1969 and served as Associate Pastor of St. Paul's UMC in Northport, Long Island (1970-73) and as Pastor of Maspeth UMC in Maspeth, Queens (1973-78). Aside from myriad local organizational involvements in New York City, I have been a member of the Committee on Religious Liberty of the National Council of Churches since 1985 and the Moderator of the Committee since 2000.
My wife, Ruby, and I have 3 children and 1 grandchild.
