Sondra's Story
Life
I've lost touch with everyone I met and knew while attending Waukegan Christian School my senior year.
I have been residing in the magical city of Minneapolis, MN for nearly eight years now. I live in the uptown area near Lake Harriet / The Rose Gardens & Lake Calhoun. I love it here. It's beautiful.
School
I enjoyed attending Waukegan Christian so very much. It was my first experience at a private school after being part of the public school system my whole life. I found WCS very challenging on several different levels (both educationally, athletically, and socially). I held two teachers up in very high regard - Mr. Dresden, our Volleyball coach, math, & philosophy teacher. The other teacher attended the same church that I did at Wesley Free Methodist and his name escapes me right now. His oldest son's name was Wesley. I so enjoyed both of these teachers teaching methods and personalities when interacting with us, their students.
Crushes, of course...what a silly question. The most memorable one was on David "Dave" Dahl. I really liked his style at the time. Of course I didn't know much more about him except he was a flirt. Then there were Andy Riemel, and some of the ...Expand for more
other senior guys who hung out together and played soccer. I loved Richard Dahl's outgoing playfulness. He was super fun and sweet. A friend of mine that I just kind of lost touch of.
I played on the varsity volleyball team. Traveling with the team to various other schools was so much fun. Although competing could be nerve wracking, it also brought me great joy. I remember both our coach and fellow teammates being very supportive. It felt good to be a part of this athletic community. The guys soccer team was quite often competing at the same time so we were able to interact with them and root each on depending on who's game finished first.
I have only one bad memory from that year that involved school. I asked a friend (Nicky) to hold my class ring and somehow it was stolen. It was a gift from my Mom. The ring was unique. I had specifically chosen it for that reason. It was never returned:(
Workplace
I am currently employed as an Office Manager for a private condominium high rise in a popular location in Minneapolis, MN.
I design and fabricate jewelry in my free time, which I have shown in various boutiques over the last 13 years. I do commission pieces for friends.
