Sonny's Story
Life
Retired and living in eastern NC near the coast as of November 2016.
School
Started out the education process at Balfour School (1-6), then to the old Fayetteville Street School for the 7th grade, out to Asheboro Middle School for 8&9, then across the street to Asheboro High School for grades 10 thru 12.
Workplace
Always had technical jobs since my training in the Navy. The last 30 years have been in the Audio industry.
Military
I joined the Navy right out of high school because they offered...Expand for more
to teach me a trade instead of just how to shoot a gun (I already knew how to do that..being a "country boy" ;-)). Wasn't very interested in college and, at the time, Uncle Sam needed me more.
I was stationed at Orlando (FL) Naval Training Station for boot camp, Jacksonville (FL) Naval Air Station for Aviation Ekectrician school, Corpus Christi (TX) Naval Air Station, San Diego (CA) North Island Naval Air Station and then onto the USS Kitty Hawk for a "fabulous vacation" in the Gulf of Tonkin, Vietnam.
