Stacey's Story

Life Well, let's see...where do we begin? I always dreamt of going to college. After graduating from OMHS, I went straight to college...starting at UMCP. After determining that I wanted to continue in the health field, I transfered to the Nursing program at Towson University where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. I worked 4 years at North Arundel Hospital (now BWMC) as a RN on a cardiac/kidney floor, and finally left there after obtaining my Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of MD, Baltimore. I am now working as a FNP for MinuteClinic. My goal at this time is to work as a FNP, and return to UMB for both my acute care (hospital-settin...Expand for more
g) NP certification, and ultimately my Doctorate (DNP) degree. I would love to end up back with Cardiology patients, and possibly even be a clinical teacher for future graduate/undergraduate nursing students. Most of my time up to this point has been focused on pursuing my educational/career goals. I am married to my high-school sweetheart Nick Basta (Who would have ever imagined that?). We have been married 6 years, but do not yet have any children. We just built a beautiful house in York, PA...and boy do we love it! I often think of my time at OMHS, and think of all the wonderful people I knew and loved. I hope that everyone is doing well, and would love to hear how you have been.
