Stacey's Story
Life
I happily reside in Cudahy with my husband Geoff and our cat Lynx in the house that we recently bought. That is scary coming from someone who at graduation wanted to be as far away from Cudahy as possible! Geoff and I frequently travel, so instead of living in far off places like I once wanted to, we travel there instead. I now see myself as a female George Bailey (It's A Wonderful Life), happily "stuck" in Cudahy after realizing that it asn't as bad as it once seemed.
My husband and I met through our friend Mike at a party in Whitewater in January 1998. We started dating in October 1998 and were married August 10, 2002. I graduated from UW-Whitewater with an Elementary/Middle Education degree in December 2001. I am currently working two jobs. I teach during the day and teach/coach baton twirling 2-3 nights a week in the Leslyn-Ettes Baton Twirling Corps. The group will be competing in the World Championships for the third time. e last world competition (held in France), our group placed third in Banniers (FLag Corps), the first time ever that a Team USA representative placed in that event at a World Competition. We also competed in the 2000 World Competition held in England. I am kept very busy teaching and coaching the group in solo, duet, team, and corps events, but I am prepared to do xtra practice to compete one more time at world. Vacationing is my favorite hobby. Over the past three years, my husband and I have gone to Mexico, New York, France, California, Canada, and Las Vegas (and various places in the Midwest). We look forward to traveling to many other places in the future.
Workplace
I currently teach Kindergarten at Salam School, where I taught 5th grade last year. I also teach/coach baton twirling alongside my mom in the Leslyn-ettes Baton Twirling Corps Inc. I choreograph most of the Flag Corps routine and also choreograph & teach a few dance-twirl team routines. We competed in the last two World Competitions in England (2000) and France (2003), where we won 3rd in Flag Corps. We are representing the USA again at the 2006 competition in Holland.
