Staci's Story
Where I live now:
I live North of Seattle,WA on an Indian Reservation in Tulalip, WA. Me and my children moved up here after my husband was murdered in 1994.
My Children:
My daughter is now 19 and had my First GRANDCHILD a boy on November 23, 2007.And my 2nd grandchild..another boy on November 11, 2008! Yeah she is CRAZY !!! And my son is now 17 yrs old.
My Career:
I have been a nurse now for over 14 years. All of it has been in the Geriatric field. I just love my elderly people! They have such stories to tell you of how they grew up, and all the things they experienced and saw. It has been a VERY REWARDING career for myself. My oldest resident was 103 when I first started taking care of her, and when I left there she was 107 yrs old!!!
My Favorite saying is:
"You can take the Gal outta TEXAS, but you can't take the TEXAS outta the Gal !! "
I hope old friends remember me as:
That "Crazy", Funny, caring Gal !!!!
High School Crushes:
I had a crush on David Caldwell, he was not only a "hottie" he had a great personality too. & in my opinion, I think one of the guys we graduated with that had become a real cutie by our Senior year, but due to his "clowning" around, was overlooked alot, was Barry Forrest!
The teachers that inspired me the most were:
Coach Miranda, & Mrs. Rives ! (Even though I did everything possible so I DID not have her for junior honors english,I ended up having her for my senior english,& really loved her !)
One of my funniest memories: was one year when I had skipped school for 2 days, found out I was busted, so I came back to school after lunch.. handed Rev. Simon a note I had, signed by my "mom", & he sent me on to class! I thought I got away wit...Expand for more
h it, but then, here came the note to go to the office. Rev. Simon, was so mad at me!! He said.., "Now Staci, when you came in my office earlier.. you KNEW you had been skipping school, & you KNEW that note had not been signed by your Momma, so why did you let me make a fool outta myself, by taking that note, and sending you on your merry way to class?" He was so upset it was funny!! He didn't let me live that one down for a very long time !!!
My College Days:
I started nursing school at Wharton County Junior College in August of 1994. My husband was killed just 8 days before I had to start school. My children were 2 and 4. I remember constantly studying, and studying, and more studying.
My Hero is:
Jesus Christ !! of course ! I grew up in the Catholic Church, but in 2002 I was baptized in a Baptist church, and became a Christian !! I have since learned so much more about who God truly is, how to pray from my heart, and how much I truly need God in my life daily !!
My Parents:
My mom, Johnnie Mae Osina passed away on July 7, 2003 at 60 yrs old, from Lung and Liver Cancer... and my dad Douglas Marcus Griffith passed away on October 31, 2004 at 58 yrs old, from Leukemia. This has been very rough for me to deal with, especially with losing both my parents in such a short time.
What I Love about living in Washington State:
I love the mountains up here. I am only about 45 minutes away from the ski slopes, which is cool. For anyone who has never visited the NorthWest.. I HIGHLY recommend it !!! There is nothing more breathtaking than having the snow-covered mountains on one side of you, and the ocean on the other!! Plus Canada is only less than an hour away from here !!!
