Staci's Story
Life
After high school, I joined the Navy in 1989. I was aboard an ammunition ship during DesertShield/DesertStorm. I spent the rest of my military time working as base police in San Diego. I got out of the Navy in 1994, stayed in San Diego for 6 months, realized things weren't working out for me out there and moved to Montana where my mom was living, to figure out what to do with myself. Living in Montana was wonderful, beautiful out there; got into camping and fishing, even went caving once! I went to college and got my degree in respiratory therapy in 1998. I thought I missed living in a big city and moved back to Atlanta shortly before our 10 year reunion. It was great seeing everyone again. Fulton Med Center, slowly realizing that I wasn't happy in Atlanta anymore. About the time I realized I was ready to move again, I was reunited with a guy I hadn't talked to since junior high! Thanks to my best friend Carol, I am now happily living in St Petersburg Florida with Brandon Blanchard (class of 89). We did the long distance thing for a year, and since he's in the Coast Guard and couldn't move, I moved down here 3 days before 9/11, followed by a hurricane 3 days later...what a week that was!
Update: Right now we are busy planning our wedding for May of 2005. We'll be getting married in Carols backyard in Henry county which will be really nice. After that we'll be packing up and preparing to move wherever the Coast Guard sends us!
