Stacy's Story
Life
Stacy Marie Essman was born on October 24, 1978 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. She was raised by mom Virginia and father David, and has two younger brothers, Shaun and Stephen.
Stacy graduated from Curtis High School in 1997 and immediately went into the working world. Stacy's plans to follow in her father's footsteps and become a graphic designer were halted when her father passed away during her senior year of high school. First she found work as a video store shift manager, then as a file clerk & receptionist for a petroleum company. She finally found her true calling as a radiology medical coder/biller in 1999, and is currently still working in this field today. She has recently started her own medical coding & billing consulting business with her husband.
Stacy met her husband, Shane, in 1995 while a junior at Curtis High School. They have now happily been together for nearly 12 years, and were married in April 2002. They have a baby daughter, Daelyn, who was born in April 2007. They bought their first house in 2003, and can't wait to raise their family there.
Stacy's life has been an exciting one, and it just keeps getting better!
School

product of the University Place school district. Born and raised in University Place, Stacy attended Sunset Elementary, Drum Intermediate, and Curtis Jr. and Sr. High. Stacy graduated from Curtis HS in 1997, and earned a 4.0 GPA her senior year - despite the tragic and sudden death of her father in March of that year.
You may recall that Stacy was pretty much a loner in high school. She had a small select group of friends, but was never one of the "popular" people - the cheerleaders, the jocks, etc. Most of her friends were older and had already "done their time" in high school. The CHS crowd just wasn't her scene. Stacy preferred books to sports, the internet to parties. She was, and is, a geek - and proud of it! :-)
Stacy's favorite subject at Curtis was psychology, taught by Mrs. Holmstrom. And, as much as she hated it at the time, upon looking back she also truly enjoyed HPTL with Mr. Lipe.
Stacy's come a long way since high school, and if she had the chance to go back and do it all again, she wouldn't change a thing!
College
College? What's that?
Just kidding. During the time since high school, Stacy's taken career related classes at Tacoma Community College and Pierce College Puyallup.
