Stacy's Story

Start a story . . . end a story . . . make up a story . . . tell a story . . . become a story. This seems so easy, but becomes rather confusing if you think about it. I'll do the highlights: --Graduated High School --Went to Phoenix College--had no idea what I wanted to be "when I grew up." so did a lot of playing in college --Came out as a Lesbian --Got formally ex-communicated as a Mormon--Imagine that?! --My first long-term relationship didn't end well, decided to run away to the Air Force --Air Force taught me to be an Electronic Computer Systems Repairperson, LOTS of fun at Keesler AFB, Buloxi AFB!!! --Stationed at Strategic Air Command Underground Command Post, Offutt AFB, near Omaha NE. --I got fed up with the BS that civilian contractors put the military through, and decided to finish my Bachelors, and become an officer. --Entered Air Force Reserve, got trained as Environmental Health Specialist, down at Brooks AFB, San Antonio TX --I decided San Antonio was so much more fun than Omaha, and decided to move there. However no job for Environmental Health Specialist. So, had to change Air Force Specialties, and go into the Texas Air National Guard. --I am now a Missile Systems Maintenance Maintenance person for the AIM 7 (Sparrow) Missile, and the AIM 9 (Sidewinder) Missile. --I'd still like to get back into electronics, but civilian schools equate computers with computer programming--do I look like a programmer to you????? Not even!!!!! Remember, I'm still looking at getting back into the Regular Air Force as an Officer. --I find out that the Army National Guard has an Officer Training Program--no degree required. You begin with your two weeks, do your year of weekends, ...Expand for more
and end with your two weeks, and bammo! presto! You are now an officer in the TX Army National Guard! --I figure I spend a few years being an officer in TX ANG, and the Air Force can't really ignore that I've been doing the job, getting good evaluations, and I would be continuing college (still unsure of what to major it--gawd that is a difficult decision, I have too many things that interest me, how can I whittle it down to one??). -- I ended up back in Phoenix AZ, in college and knew what I wanted to be when I grew up--an Industrial Designer: designing things with PEOPLE in mind! right up my alley; using my mechanical ability, my problem solving, research, common sense (which I occasionally have), understanding manufacturing process, my curiosity, and a bunch of other little odds and ends that I have running around in my brain. --But then, BAMMO!!!!! my mind went BOOM! Kinda' sucked, psychiatricly fell apart, couldn't keep it together. I could do it for a couple years, but past 2, things would go BOOM all over again. So, I had to stop, try to "get fixed." that never happened, but I did get a bit better, sometimes more stable, but not work-worthy. --Ended up moving to Denver CO. Loooooooove Denver! nicely found "sick" apartment building to move into (didn't know it was "sick" when I moved into it), have lived here long enough (15 years), for me to get really, really, physically sick--damn complex has f*cked up my lungs, they don't want to process oxygen correctly any more. So, I"m on what is medically referred to as a "Sh*tload of Oxygen," 8+ liters/minute (aka 2+gal/minute), and I think I'm going to have to be upped to 10 liters soonly. But I don't "look sick" or sound sick
