Stacy's Story

Life I married my husband Duane in October of 1999. He has been in the United States Air Force since 1988, and is currently a Technical Sergeant. He has been to many countries including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Turkey, Diego Garcia, and also served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He currently works at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas as an instructor and will retire after 20 years in November of 2008. I have been a Registered Nurse since 1989 (18 years). I have worked in orthopedics, telemetry, oncology, cardiology,case management, medical/surgical, neurology and rehabilitation units. ound Care Center at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. I am currently in the process of being certified as a Certified Wound Specialist. We got orders, and were transferred to Wichita Falls,Texas in June of 2003. We live about 10 miles off base in the town of Burkburnett, Texas. I do not like it at all here and can't wait to get transferred. We have no children together. We tried for 6 years, including many,many,MANY fertility treatments including in-vitro fertilization, with no results. But ,I have one step-son, Zachary. He will be 15 in December. I also have a Shih Tzu named Bumkin' who will be 12 in December. College I graduated from Iowa Western Community College in 1989 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. I am a Registered Nurse. Military My husband has been Active Duty Air Force since 1988. He is now a Tech. Sgt. and will retire after 20 years of service in November 2008.
