Stacy's Story
Life
My Spouse
I met my spouse through Dan Allmacher in 1990, we re-met and began dating in December 1995, and we were married June 2000. Still no kids.
My Pets
Her name is Bailey, she's the cutest Yorkshire Terrier, and she is now 7 years old and as hyperactive as ever!
My Job
I work as a outpatient therapist (Psychologist) through List Psychological Services in Lapeer as an independent contractor, and at St. John Eastwood Clinics in Eastpointe as a psychotherapist. I still do some occasional work for Crossroads for Youth, which is a residential treatment facility in Oxford, Michigan for adjudicated youth. I'm all over the place! I enjoy facilitating groups on the high ropes course and climbing wall (adventure therapy) whenever I get a chance. Although it's a hobby, I also get paid for it - what could be better than that?
UPDATE - I'm back working full time at Crossroads For Youth, and transferred from the Eastpointe office of the St. John Eastwood Clinic to Rochester Hills for a couple of evenings a week. Still trying to have kids of my own.
UPDATE 2011- Now working for Clinton Counseling Center at the Macomb County Jail as a substance abuse therapist full time. ...Expand for more
Doing evening work at the Eastwood Clinic outpatient with mainly children and adolescents. Still trying to have kids :(
School
One of my favorite memories is dancing as a Chippette.
College
I went to Wayne State for both my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Marriage and Family Psychology
Workplace
I've had too many jobs - worked at Penna's for about six years while in school, also worked as a substitute teacher on and off for Utica schools and Lakeview schools. I was also a teacher assistant while in graduate school and worked as an Intervention Counselor at Family Youth Interventions. After getting my Master's degree I worked in a psychiatric hospital for a year, worked as a research assistant at Children's Hospital, and taught two semesters of Introductory Psychology at Macomb Community College. I finally settled for a while at Crossroads For Youth....but left there again.
Other: My mother passed away in 2005, which was unexpected and very difficult. It's still hard for me to believe even after six years.
Update 2015: finally a successful pregnancy! I'm expecting a boy! Also about to finish a degree in Ultrasound - a career shift. But with baby, who knows!
