Stan's Story
Life
Since leaving Cambridge, Ontario I obtained my BA in Iowa, MA at the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico and Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in Anthropology specializing in Mesoamerican/Maya archaeology. I have lived in Texas and New Mexico where I worked in archaeology. Presently, I live in Winnipeg Manitoba and work in the Anthropology Department at the University of Manitoba where I teach and supervise a laboratory. I have two daughters Maria Christina and Cassandra Victoria and two cats Maya and Inca. old Harley which was stolen a few years ago. Before going into archaeology I was a social worker in Hamilton, Ontario for a brief time.
College
From Glenview High School I went on to Graceland College from 1968 to December 1971 (now Graceland University) in Iowa where I obtained a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology, then after a brief time as a Social Worker in Hamilton Ontario I went on to graduate school from 1974 to 1977 in Anthropology/Archaeology at the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula, Puebla Mexico obtaining my MA. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Toronto between 1977 and 1981 obtaining the Ph.D. in 1986 while teaching at the University of Manitoba.
