Stefanie's Story
Hello! After high school in Boron, I moved around a bit and traveled a little. I moved for a couple years back to Boron to care for my mom who died of complications from Multiple Sclerosis on May 17th 2005.
I have 3 children and a stepson. My daughter Alissa just started Kindergarten this school year and everyone swears she's going to be a future WNBA player. She is 5 yrs old and already eye level at my chest! She already swears that she is famous.
My daughter Jocelyn is 3yrs old. She has been diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis with Epilepsy and Autism, she just started Pre-school. She is very loving and adorable!
My son James just turned 1yrs old and is currently going through a Cerebral Palsy Diagnosis. He is such a cutie pie and full of smiles! Except when it is feeding time, then it's everyone stand back and let him eat! lol
My stepson Jude is 4yrs old and we have him for part of the year. He is completely and madly obsessed with trains! He has EVERYTHING to do with Thomas the Train! He is very polite and cute as a button!
I am happily married to the most wonderful man who just happens to be a Chief(E-7) in the Navy! We have been completely inseperable since the day we met! It was very much like one of those corny chick flicks where the strangers fall in love at first sight... NO JOKE! We met in BORON(go figure) through a mutual friend.

We are now living in Hawaii (transferred from San Diego in Dec.2006). Jeff is stationed on a Ship here at Pearl Harbor. We went through our first deployment together last year. We made it through and stronger than ever! :) We hope to be tranferring back to San Diego at the end of 2009/beginning of 2010!
November 2007, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Now I spend my time raising awareness and funding for research for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, Multiple Sclerosis, and Autism. I do the walkathons and I tell everyone who will listen about the genetic disease that has its hold on my baby girl.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex is a rare(1 in 6,000 live births) genetic disease that causes tumors to grow in the Brain,Heart, Kidneys, Lungs, Eyes, Skin, and reproductive organs in females. It is estimated that there are roughly 25,000-50,000 in the United States that are affected by TSC and around 1 million in the world!
You may also find me writing letter after letter to Congressmen requesting money for research for Tuberous Sclerosis because my daughter could have been properly diagnosed with TSC at a much younger age perhaps even at birth if the doctors would have been more aware of the disease. It could have very well changed the course of her development.
Well, I guess that is me in a nutshell!
