Stefanie's Story
Life
After college, I spent several years working and traveling, basically just enjoying life. I was married for several years, but am now divorced. I have one wonderful child (Joseph) from the marriage - he was born in 2002. As a single parent, I stay very busy, but always make time for fun and relaxation. We spend a lot of time at playgrounds and parks, hiking, camping, and rock climbing.
College
I graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1996 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology, then did graduate work in psych at George Mason University, before deciding to chan...Expand for more
ge careers. I completed a second bachelor's degree in Nursing and International Health from Georgetown University in 2005, and a Master's in Nursing in 2006.
Workplace
After graduating from Kalamazoo College, I spent several years counseling combat veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder at the veterans' hospital in Washington. After changing careers, I worked as a Public Health Nurse in Arlington while pursuing my Master's degree. I am now a Family Nurse Practitioner with a non-profit organization in DC serving the "medically underserved" areas of the city.
