Stella E. Wischmeyer, RN, MSN
ÂNurses should be their patients role models.Â
I have been a practicing RN for 41 years in surgical oncology, cardiac care, hospice/infusion care, home health, and nurse education in St. Louis, MO, Houston, TX, New York, NY and the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. I have presented on endovascular stent graft repairs at nursing grand rounds at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. I discovered while in Houston that my real niche was as an educator. I now am a certified registered nurse practitioner and perform house calls for Medicare Advantage members for United Health Care.
I am an ADN graduate from Belleville (Illinois) Area College in 1977 and received my BSN in 1986 from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. I recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with an MSN. I have completed my post-Masters studies in the role of the nurse educator, and am nine hours short of an MA as an adult nurse practitioner. Achieving the MSN was...Expand for more
the catalyst in beginning my second career in academic nursing education. I graduated from Villanova University in December 2010 with my post masters NP certificate.
I am a member of the American Nurses Association, the Oncology Nursing Society, and the past secretary for my chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing, Omicron Delta.I am a dual member of Alpha Nu chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
I live in Forks Township, just north of Easton, PA, with two American Eskimo dogs and the usual house full of cats. I have a gorgeous 26 year old niece who plays the viola and graduated from Wellesley University with her Astrophysics degree and works in a medical research laboratory in search for a cure for cancer.. I am not searching for anyone or anything. I have made my peace and will continue to help others to strive for better health outcomes without use of allopathic medicine. I will also love my one and only true love, Oliver as he is my husband and soulmate.
