Stephanie's Story
Life
Ryan Ayden was born March 5, 2007.
After I graduated from high school, I went straight to the University of South Alabama where I majored in Mathematics and minored in Computer Science. A year after high school graduation, I also married the man I met my senior year, Richard Lee, on August 20, 1993. He supported me through a bachelor's and master's degree from South Alabama, both in the same field.
After college graduation, March 1998, I began work as a Computer Programmer at Ingalls while my husband went back to school. Since I enjoyed teaching so much while I was at South Alabama, I also began teaching or tutoring math classes at night for MS Gulf Coast Community College.
A year and a half of working at Ingalls seemed like a good time to go after a job at Stennis, where I always wanted to work. I found a job opening there and immediately applied. h Laboratory (NRL), amongst other government agencies. I have personally been contracted to NAVOCEANO since I have been here. Also, in the Fall of 2002, Tulane University opened it's doors in Biloxi, where I have been the one and only Statistics teacher thus far.
When my husband graduated with a master's degree in Health Education, we also decided to make his dream come true. On October 25, 2003, we had our grand opening of our business, Fitness with a Kick in Woolmarket. It is a Karate studio (DOJO) and Women's Gym. Although I'm not as skinny as I used to be in high school (when I could have sworn I was FAT), this gym is giving me the motivation I need to come close to the figure I used to have.
On a more personal note, after more than 10 years of marriage, our "family" consists of two dogs and two cats. Although we haven't tried to have kids, it's always been in our hearts to adopt. As of this year, we have applied to become adoptive parents to 1-2 children between the ages of 3 and 7.
