Stephanie's Story

Life My life is everything I ever hoped and dreamed it would be. I am married to a wonderful man, Ron, and we just celebrated our 17th anniversary. We have 4 beautiful children. Ryan who is 17, Breeann 14, Andrew 8, and Gabby 6. We live in a small town and are blessed with a great church and friends. I became a Christian 10ish years ago and dearly love Jesus. I am passionate about helping people and think one of my gifts are being there for others and compassion more so now than any other time in my life. Difficult times and situations in life have helped get me there. I lost my first son to SIDS as an infant 19 years ago, and now I have a neurological condition they compare with MS. Both things devastate you in the beginning. And though some symptoms effect my mobility at times, have altered my appearance, and make me adjust life to meet a whole new set of needs, it does not dampen my spirit. It has taught me to not be so vain and materialistic, to truly understand and be more aware of the needs of people around me, and to remember what is important in life. Life is very good. God is always there to help me through. I appreciate all the blessings in my life so much more. I now work full time as an Activity Coordinator in a retirement center and Ron is going back to college at Phoenix University for a degree to be a family counselor. My health has been very good for the most part the last couple of years and I have been able to go on a mission trip to Peru in 2006 and will be going on one to Mexico with the youth group from our church this summer. School From what I remember from highschool it was really a sad time....Expand for more
I was so into doing drugs and didn't really care about anything but myself. I dated the wrong guys and didn't really apply myself to school until my senior year. I wish I would have gotten involved in more social activities. Fun stuff and made friends with people not interested in Drugs. I wish also that I would have started going to church earlier. But it didn't happen that way. Truthfully through the trouble I created for myself in highschool taught me a lot of lessons in the end, God can use all things that way and he managed to even squeeze good out of that. I was so wasted most of the time and then with the MS effecting some of my memory I honestly do not remember a lot of people or names to faces. I haven't kept in touch with anyone besides Jill Smoke, now Kenaston, as we married cousins. Even her and I have drifted apart though. College After having my second child, Ryan, I went to Trend Business college when he was ten months old. I got my degree to work in Medical Office Administration. As soon as I graduated though we moved to a farming town in Idaho where I tried to get a job in a Dr. office, but finding out I was pregnant with our second child, I opted for working in a formal daycare and have never persued a career again in the field I graduated with a degree in. College was fun as I actually applied myself as I never did in highschool. But with a family and working a job in the college office in the evenings there was not much time to do anything but sleep and little of that with all the midnight oil for studying. I made some temporary friends while at school, but never stayed in touch after graduating.
