Stephanie's Story
Life
I turned 36 in July of 2007. I married a cool guy in August 2007 (a creative, sensitive one with Italian roots). No kids (don't want them---they need to be fed EVERY DAY..and what if it came out ugly?), only my pets, Mac and Wah....oh, and my last name is now ROTOLONI!!!
My degree in pre-professional biology (cum laude)from Univ. of TN at Chattanooga AND my exorbitant student loans had me seek out a job, which happened to be in Chicago. I've lived in Chicago since 2002, as a federal officer. I was first an officer with the United States Dept. of Agriculture, then with Customs and Border Protection. Now I'm an officer with the USDA again, and I work on enforcing the quarantine regulations of the emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis) quarantine in Illinois.
Life's fun. I have a tight set of girlfriends (all officers). One of my best friends just had twins. ...Expand for more
I love to hang with them.
My husband does most of the cooking, cleaning, and shopping, yet he still has a fun job outside of the home (he even got paid to draw that pig on the bags of Flat Earth chips). AND he's not too ugly (at least to me). He's older than myself (48), but he looks much younger.....we met on E-HARMONY and married less than six months afterward.
What else? My favorite food is Korean BBQ (kalbi), but there are so many great ethnic restaurants in Chicago that Thai and Spanish tapas foods are also loved.
My favorite things to do here are weekend getaways, hanging out at Lake Michigan, and watching documentaried and trashy reality shows (Jon & Kate Plus 8 Marathons!!!!).
There's even a little person bar here, called Magillas. I've always wanted to host a baby shower there....and of course I love to clothe my boy Mac in dresses and White Sox garb.
