Stephanie's Story
Life
I graduated in 1986 from DBCA - the joke is that I was the only one to graduate, therefore becoming the Valedictorian, the most likely to succeed or fail, the funniest, the smartest, etc. After graduation I attended Marshall University and began working in Huntington, WV for several years during and after college. Eventually I moved back to Cool Ridge, WV and began working for Winterplace Ski Resort and during the summers I worked for the whitewater company, Appalachian Wildwaters (I loved them both - free skiing in the winter and whitewater in the summer). Sometime in 1998 I decided to move to Biloxi, MI but that was cleverly altered by my Mom, & Aunt Sarah who offered me a place to live (free) in VA and a job at her business, Alexandria Massage Therapy, Inc. So I moved to Alexandria, VA. That's where I met my husband Stan (playing in a volleyball league), and on Sept. 30, 2000 we were married and settled in Manassas, VA. I had only been in VA for about three weeks when I took a job with PS Business Parks and worked there for nearly four years before my aunt passed ...Expand for more
away and I purchased the massage therapy business she owned. I have been managing anywhere from 5-8 therapists for the past three years and loving every minute of it - up to about 8 months ago, when I began feeling that God was moving me into a different direction. I am currently in the process of selling the business and volunteering at our church, First Baptist Church of Woodbridge, where we've attended about four years. I have been approached to work in the Children's Ministry at our church, as well as many other areas - "Where God leads, God provides" is my new motto. We have no two-legged children of our own at present but of the four-legged kind we have a daughter (Sheba) and a son (Dioji). We believe that our Father in Heaven will give us a child if that is part of His plan for our lives, if not, I have plenty of nieces and nephews that keep me plenty busy. I must thank God for His mercy and grace for without that, I wouldn't be the person I am today, nor would I know the true love of my husband - God is so great! May God bless you and keep you well.
