Stephanie's Story

Life 20 years - unbelievable. My memories of OHS seem so much closer. Here it is in 2007 and 4 kids later. After we graduated, I bascially had to get a full time job to move out of the house. Those were some great, carefree. fun years. I shared an apt with my cousin. We worked during the day and partied most nights. Remember Head Bangers Ball and Wayne's World on MTV? MTV in general, was our channel of choice. Towards the end of the 2 years we lived together, we both met the men we were to marry and are still married to today. I got pregnant at 21 and had my first daughter at 22. Thankfully during this time I had a good job at an insurance brokerage. I went through some insurance schooling and got my license. It was a good career for a single mom that didn't have a degree. Even though I had my daughter, I didn't marry her father because he was recently divorced and had a daugher already and I wasn't sure if we were doing it for the right reasons. When Krysta was 2 1/2 we did get married and started working on expanding our family. At 26 I had Savannah. I worked my way up in the company and headed a satellite branch in Tampa. There were a lot of hours and travel and the stress got to me having to be away from the girls so often. I had always wanted a boy and my husband had just doubled his salary due to the .com boom. We got pregnant, I quit my insurance career and stayed home for a year. Well, we all know what happended to some of the .com companies, including the one my husband worked for. So now with 2 girls and 1 boy it was time to go back to ...Expand for more
work. I didn't want to go back into the insurance industry with the demands so I looked for a part time job. I found one working in the IT Dept in the evening for Achieva Credit Union fka Pinellas Cty Teachers Credit Union. The job worked out so perfect for the family - being home during the day and husband home at night. Oh, baby #4. Never have a SuperBowl party, especially when the Bucs are playing and Win when your husband it scheduled for a vascetomy. My husband had the vascetomy and 2 weeks later we found out I was pregnant. Devasted. I never imagined I would have 4 kids. My baby Arianna is the sweetest though. She is 3 1/2 and I couldn't image our family without her now. So that is what I've been up to the past 20 years. I struggle to maintain a part of my own identity. I still love to laugh, love "girls nights out," music - new & old, and reminiscing about the good old days at Osceola with Melissa (Lane) Spaziano back in the 80's. Let's not forget dancing. That one is for you Melissa! I wish everyone out there the best! Thinking about school and my classmates always brings a smile to my face. P.S. Remember the word "slippage" Derek Smith? Mr. Postawaite's History tests, Derek, Mayo, Swickie, John and I moving our desks together and Mr. P. never noticing. The Ketchup Caper - Who was that anyway? Buttercups (That class reminds me of Jeff Lehman). Showing up at McDonald's every night trying to find out where we could hang out or if anyone was having a party until the cops showed up. I hope the above memories put a smile on your face too:-)
