Stephen's Story
Hello
Just bringing the world up to speed.
After leaving Quito and finishing my high school education here in Pa. I attended Penn State. after 3 years of engineering I discovered it was just not for me .
I did get a job with a local department store as a sporting good manager. I have been with them for the past 37 years. During that time I became a area manager ,having sporting goods , athletic shoes and athletic clothing . For some 12 years I was on the road overseeing sporting goods ,toy and stationary sales. That was a fun job with daily travel to four different states. But like so many big companies the down sizing came after 9/11 and so went the job, I currently manage a furniture department at one of the stores location,
On the personal side , I married the girl next door(30 years now). My wife Bev and i have two kids. My daughter , Stephanie is a chief in a large hotel in Florida . She loves the warm sun and never wants to see snow again. My son , William is still at home , going to school . I hope some day he finish...Expand for more
es and I can have the house for my wife and I. He is pursuing a degree in engineering.
As for what i do to have fun..... I have been a ham radio operator for 37 years and talked to people in every country in the world. There are four large towers in the yard with antennas every where. I am a very active "contester" in the hobby(more like a pro at it) and share the station with friends . During the summer I do competitive shooting on a Civil War Musket team. I maintain a shooting range in the yard for the team. My wife and I spend many weekends in Virginia camping and shooting. I shoot for a southern unit , Hampton Legion C.S.A. I have been active with this for 25 years. The rest of my fun time seems to be working around the home . We live on a large lot in the woods and always something to do. This years ice storms have made a real mess of things. Looks like several weeks of work to remove all the damaged trees.
If you are every in the Reading , Pa. Area feel free to stop in.
