Stephen's Story
Bounced around in school, starting at Byram Academy, then Forest Hill High School, finally ended up at St Joseph where I felt out of place and not welcome. While at St. Joe I was extremely quiet, angry and shy...remember is Ms Fatheree's French class where I threatened to snatch a student out of his desk. Ms Fatheree told me to go take a walk....after high school I joined the Air Force and set off 11 Nov 80. My first duty station was in Panama for my first duty station in 1981 met the greatest people here. Left in 1984 and became an instructor at Keesler teaching Ground Radio for 7 years. Quality Control inspector handling training records, Tech Orders, and Personal Evals. in 1993, I was suppose to head to Tampa as part of JCSE but got diverted to Omaha, Nebraska working for the 55th MCCS.....can't tell you much here since I was in the Black world....left Omaha in 2001 and went to MacDill AFB in Tampa as the NCOIC of Network Security, after about 1 year became Chief of the Network Control Center then after another year went back to my career field as the NCOIC of Ground Radio where I met up with Mike Pate and Bob Gerald again. I retired from the Air Force after 26 years and am now working at US SOCOM as a Command security intrusion detection manager handing all security and access control. Been here now almost 10 years as a civilian. Still have at least 10 to go.semetary AT verizon DOT net
