nd mortgage I joined the Geography PhD program at USC. Afterward, I taught at USC for eight years. Loved USC, but it wasnât tenure track and wasnât likely to be. Today I am Professor of Geography and Chair at East Los Angeles College, and until recently President of the Los Angeles Geographic Society. It has been a good life and an interesting one. My wife and I have travelled the world, the Pacific, SouthEast Asia, Europe, Central America. My first born attended Harvard and afterward led an earthquake relief program in Central Java where he rebuilt 23 schools. Today he is back in Indonesia working for an international consultancy firm. My next born took a different route and became a chef. He spent a year in Australia and now works in the restaurant of an up-scale hotel in Santa Monica.
