Stephen's Story
Life. . . what a concept,
After graduating from Peabody in 82, I served 20 years in the Air Force Security Forces. Blessed to have walked at Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Pearl Harbor, Mt Fuji, Manila (Philippines), Seoul Korea, Texas, SC, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Virginia . . . Retired as Chief Master Sgt selectee; God answered my specific prayer, granted a job at SF HQ, Air Combat Command, Virginia.
I completed my AA, degree in Crim Justice, a BS in Education and Training with Southern Illinois and a Masters of Management at Cambridge. I am the Program Manager for DP Technology Services, and I fill a technical slot determining security requirement policy for F-22's, F-35's, B-52's and the like. God willing, I will be blessed with 5 more years at least. I thoroughly enjoy my new responsibilities as a PM, and like placing great talent.
I have a great daughter, Amber. She is the absolute light of my earthly existence. Camping, swimming, and coexisiting with her is the single most rewarding experience I ever had, bar none. God is good, and has blessed me mightily. I would love to share Him with you.
Main interests: God, camping in my RV, all things law enforcement, laid back folks, competence, good hearted people, dogs, old cars, houses, and mechanical things, Fall . . .leaves, campfires, rest, relaxation. Raising my daughter. Loyalty (so very important, so rarely found, even by those close to me), honorable action (ditto)and faithfulness (need I say more) all very high on my list. Taking care of the yard . . . simple things. Handgun shooting, 2nd ammendment issues. I shoot at the so called expert level, and have for 25 years; Recently was able to shoot 4 quarters (coins) at almost 25 yards with a 9MM handgun. I own at least 8, practice regularly. I am a member and soon to be board member of the local gun club. Teaching my daughter firearm safety and effective, accurate shooting is a great thing for a proud dad. Watch out boys, this gal can shoot.

kstabbing, people (need I say more?). Betrayal is the cruelest cut of all. Elitists. Socialist thought in general. Condescending attitudes in anyone. One can learn a lot about a person in how they treat waitresses and waiters. For Pete's sake, give a homeles guy a buck.
Workplace
Started mowing lawns, shoveling snow . . . then worked at a Bingo selling pop. Flipping burgers at Winkeys came next. Had great fun, met some real odd night time only characters on Liberty avenue (I miss the friends who died along the way: Katy, Kim, Rita, Chuckie, Brian, Edith, VJ, Roman . . .) Giant Eagle was a weird place to work bagging groceries . . . ate some candy a fellow worker gave me. Turns out it was from an open package of store property. Got fired. I think I was set up ; because the other worker didn't get into trouble . . .blessing in disguise, led to the Air Force, and the rest of my life.
There have been many heartaches along the way (some very recent;cut me to the bone), lost family members, disloyalty, unfaithfullness . . . and a very painful experience. If you believe as I do that God directs our paths, then we must accept the bumps in the road. If it weren't for the rain, would you really know when the sun was shining?
I hope people remember me as honorable, someone who strived to do the right thing. I didn't always get it right, wasn't always effective, and I stumbled along the way, but always tried to treat others as I wanted to be treated. Some people interpret that as weakness, I see it as strength. Its easy to be tough, mean and not care, or not let people into your heart (always the risk they will hurt you). It is much more difficult to take on another person's troubles and walk with them.
Parting shot: Always give the homeless guy/gal a few bucks and thank God it isn't you on the other side of that coin. If they use it for bad, that is between them and God. If you fail to give them a few bucks, that is between YOU and God. Angels walk amongst us. You never know when you might have taken care of God along the way . . . be kind. The world needs more kindness.
