Stephen's Story
Life
I have been employed as the Gallia County 911 Director since September 1st of 1997. I directly supervise 11 full time and 5 part time 911 Operators as well as work to maintain the county's 911 phone and radio systems. Prior to moving to 911 I spent 19 years and 11 months (1978 to 1997)as a dispatcher for the City of Gallipolis Gallipolis police and fire departments mostly "hidden" from the public by primarily working midnight the shift. almost 20 years at the city. Now, I'm out in the daylight, working "generally" normal hours. I attend meetings of civic groups and greet the public. We go in to the elementary schools to educate our children about 911. We try to educate all county residents about our 911 system.

While at Gallia Academy, (Class of '77) I worked on the Gallian yearbook staff as well as the Gallia Script taking photographs for both. I also took sports photos for the Gallipolis Daily Tribune too while in school.
