I moved to Florida after graduation to attend the University of Florida. After graduating with a major in English and elective coursework in engineering, math, and the sciences, I worked for an engineering company as a technical writer for 8 years. In 1979 I became a Certified Professional Resume Writer and started my own business assisting clients with resume development and job searching. I met my wife, Anne, in college and we married a year after graduation. I’d never tell her, but I was definitely the winner in that deal. We made our home in Florida until 2005. We have one son, Michael, whom we adopted from Thailand in 1988 when he was 2 years old. In 2005, Anne retired from her job as Associate Inspector General of the University of Florida and I semi-retired. We moved from Florida to the tiny town in Minnesota where Anne grew up to take care of her aging and ailing parents and manage their businesses.
