steve's Story

Well.....I was thinking about old friends and thought I would let everyone know how life's path has taken me. Probably a little different than many of you would have expected from my high school antics!! General: Building Material Professional, married 20 years, 2 kids Nicholas 18 and Katelynne 15, have built 3 custom homes, have owned 6 homes (2 of which I still own), have moved more times than I can count, throughout 5 different states, and currently live in Florida with what was a extra home but due to the economy is now a rental near Gettyburg, Pa. My great loves are still fast and exciiting things. My kids and I can be seen often at most central Florida Motorcross tracks and yes I still ride, I love weapons of all kinds, and street bikes ( currently have a 2006 Ninja). Oh yeah and I forgot to mention I am one of those gun toteting bible clutching Republicans you hear so much about!! Major regrets: Thomas Jefferson I think.....Be friendy with many but intimate with few....I wish during High School I would have bonded with some really close friends instead of chasing whoever was having the biggest party life at the time. This left me with alot of friends from school but none close. The other is instead of constatly climbing the corporate ladder which moved me all over I would have rather focused more enrgy on my family and not dragging them along.. Below if you are intrested find the rest of my story.... After High School I lived for a short time in Tappan NY with some friends...worked and my intentions were to go to College. If you remember my accumen was never academics. The party life got old fast and I joined my parents who moved to Virginia on a gorgeous lake nestled in the blue ridge mountains. Once again my hope was to become a Virginia Tech Hokie or some other sort of college scholar. WELL once again I quickly realized that school work was not nearly as exciting as real work and went to work for a local building supply. I quickly went up the managment ladder bef...Expand for more
ore I was even legal to drink. Then realized retail was not my favorite either at which time I took a position as a sales rep for Andersen Windows in the tri state area.During that time I met the love of my life Melissa...I was still living life pretty hard and meeting her was like hitting a brick wall going 80 miles an hour. Needless to say we got married and are still together. My career as indicated earlier took me from various positions...General Manger, National Sales Manager, Southeast Regoinal Manager, etc etc with about three different comapnies...always offering better deals and various new and exciting positions up and down the east coast. Well guess what the life of 50 employees and going to the airport every Monday just to come home on Friday as exciting as it seems gets VERY old regardless on your compensation. During the economic downturn I expected some decrease in middle management so I opted to take the most horrible position of Regoinal Manager for Florida, Caribbean, and the southern Americas with my current company ( just kidding it is awesome and lots of salt water, good weather and beaches). I have a great distribution sales force with a wonderful Christian based company. So here we are in Florida my wife who is a nurse works occasionally and I am still burning the roads..but I am home most nights except when I travel abroad which is only a few times a quarter. It may sound all rosey but trust me like all families we had our share of challenges between moving, cancer, family upset etc...but overall we are all together and my kids are everything I was not...nearly perfect grades, both on JV or Varsity golf and softball, ROTC etc.... and my wife Melissa...I love her to death...just for putting up with my crap over the years.....God Bless to everyone and I hope to hear from some of those friends that i may have touched thier life in some type of positive way but never new it OR bless me out for being a jerk which I know sometimes I was!! Sincerely Steve
