Steven's Story
Life
My journey so far...
AFTER THE FALL...
It's taken a long time to see where I am in life. I'm happy I got that second chance.
PEOPLE AND PLACES...
Don't confront me with my failures....I have not forgotten them
DO YOU RECALL....
Although everyone etched out their own lives, people's characters shouldn't change too much - If you remember who I was, stop and say HI - I've been told I have/had a pretty good memory, and I'll probably remember you
STILL THEY RIDE...
Finally on that next phase...
Gotten married in May 2003 -...and now Connor Arthur is here!! 10-2-04
Siblings are status quo, and happy to get in touch with some of my past on this.
Am still into good music, good people, and good times - I hope that all my past I knew is happy and where they'd want to be in life.
It's damn strange to hear all that good music now on the 'oldies' stations. lol I didn't think it was gonna be that soon before that happened.
"My expectations were reduced to zero when I turned 21 (or 19). Everything since then has been a bonus"
-STEPHEN HAWKING
JUST THE SAME WAY...
"The child had every toy his father wanted"
-ROBERT E. WHITTEN
"It never occurs to a boy that he will some day be as dumb as his father"
-Dr. LAWRENCE J. PETER
"...your father is a great man whether or not he's a worldly success. He's someone you can look up to. He helps shape your worldview, dispenses discipline, teaches object lessons, hands down material and moral legacies."
-JOHN WINOKUR
"Fathers should not get too discouraged if their sons reject their advice. It will not be wasted; years later the sons will offer it to their own offspring"
-ANONYMOUS
"Daddy, I'd like another choco-yoo-hoo"..."Oh thank you so much! You're the best daddy in the whole wide world"
-CONNOR ARTHUR ...Expand for more
COOKE
ANYWAY....
"Watchin' the world go by, suprisin' it goes so fast
Johnny looked around him and said, 'Well, I made the big time at last'"
-BAD COMPANY
But once you hit the big time, the only way to go is down.
August isn't a good month for me yet. I lose an irreplacable piece of my life. Goodbye dad. Please rest in peace, and be happy in your next life. I look forward seeing you with open arms when I hopefully arrive in 40 years or so. (RIP ARTHUR COOKE 8-20-07)
School
Can still remember the ugly brown suit I wore to my first day of Don Bosco, Sept, 1983 (Probably still have it in Lodi). Mr. Kilduff taught Physical Science in that first class. (Mr. Kilduff, if you ever read these, you were one of the memorable teachers in my life, which made me appreciate the subjects I had with you.)
I'm really happy of the education I had, and happy of most of the friends I've had/kept from those days. And would love to do it all over again.
Going to that "dance" in December '84...
Like everyone, my life is a series of songs - "Don't know what you got....-"Third Time Lucky", "Musta Got Lost", "Its been 14 years of hell", but "(Dana just) gave birth to a 10 lb. baby boy", and "everything's gonna be alright"
Time really brings back floods of memories - It took some time for me to recall most, but life won't wait for you to get back on your feet.
I have alot more to write sometime soon - lol Lennon was so true with the line, "Life is what happens to you when your busy making other plans"
College
I feel I'd lost more than I learned during my college days, but I'm happy I made friendships that I've kept since then.
Workplace
This one is under construction
I'm doing fine though
Just wait and see...
Military
No military - 4-F here
I would like to thank all the veterans who have/had put their lives on the line for me and my freedoms.
