Steve's Story

I've been married since 1973, with a daughter born in 1980 and a son born in 1990. One born in Corpus Christi, TX, the other in Fairbanks, Alaska. I call them my "end of the road" kids, the highways end in both locations. She (OU grad) is Director of Nursing in an Outpatient Hospital in San Diego. She finally got engaged in Dec. 2013 and will get married in July, 2014. He is still in College at UCO, working on a double major of Humanities and Philosophy, and wants to be a Professor. He will graduate (FINALLY) in May, 2014 with 2 degrees and 2 Minors. the Degrees are in Philosophy and Humanities. His minors are in History and Religion. He decided having 2 Majors was not enough. he had totally 2 Degrees, with separate Certificates of his degrees. I retired at age of 42, due to wounds I received in the Military back in '69. I was a professional pilot, working on every continent north of the equator. I flew helicopters and airplanes in Africa, the mid East, as far north as 100 miles from the North Pole from Alaska to near the equator in Mexico. I hold Airline Transport Pilot Ratings in both Airplanes Multiengine and Helicopters. I am a retired FAA Designated ATP Pilot Examiner, issuing the certificates to the ATPs. During the years flying overseas and the Army, I managed to live almost 3 years in Germany. I really love the people and the sights there. I speak German, some Spanish, Arabic and Inupiat Eskimo (Yep, in College), and some English. I finished my BS in Aviation Services, but dropped out of my Master's Program after a computer failure and retiring from work. Masonry has kept me busy since then. I was the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of F & AM Masons of Alaska in 2002. I travelld quite a bit with the Grand Lodge, I attend the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma in November. My Daughter was the Grand Worthy Advisor (State President) of the Raoinbow Girls in Alaska in 2000. My son was the State Master Councilor of DeMolay in Oklahoma in 2009. The Grand Master of Oklahoma said we are a family of underacheivers. My Son and I have another thing in common, we...Expand for more
are both Blackbelts in Karate. He is a 2nd Degree (NiDan) and I am a 5th Degree (GoDan). I am a member of the Oklahoma Karate Association. I attend as many of our Tournaments as possible each year. I can still Judge Katas and Referee Sparring, so I give back as much as I can with my limited mobility from my injuries in '69. I am a 100% Disabled Veteran because of my injuries. So far, they have replaced both hips, and screwed my back up with rods and poles in my spine. We moved in 2004 to Edmond for my health. So I'm back where I started. I would enjoy hearing from any of you. My daily activities include drawing and varous art projects, playing cards with the guys at the Lodge, and doing whatever I want... I worked hard, I deserve a little goof off time. I have added another tool to keep me busy. I have owned motorcycles as far back as the early 60's, but my body is not in shape to drive a 2 wheeled Motorcycle. So, I bought a 3 wheeler, or a Trike! Yes, as we get older, our toys go back to our youth! It has taken me back at least 10 years! I get out and just cruise for fun! I may get younger!!! I will grow my beard back to match the new image I present on the Trike. I am a member of a Masonic Riding association called the Widows Sons. Masons know what this depicts. It is International and is limited to Master Masons, only. I was able to make the 40th Reunion in Altus. It was great seeing people I hadn't seen in 40 yrs and learning about their lives. It is amazing seeing where fate has led us. I was tricked to go to the 45th High School reunion in Ponca City. My best buddy from Ponca City, Byron Tribble, and I went in a 1968 Chevy Van, properly adorned with Peace Love and Flowers! I barely knew anyone there, since I didn't attend but my Senior Year there. As usual, My natural Dark hair, and a full head of it, made some of the men look askance at me. My full white beard does give me away. I don't want to dye it. I believe it is better to be natural, all my own teeth, my Hair, along with it being dark brown and staying in as good a shape as I can.

I've been asked what I looked like back in high school... 47 years ago! So, here it is:
With my brother Mike,
Yin and Yang, the opposites of life. Male/female, love/hate, and happiness/sadness.
Recently my wife and I went on a vacation. Allowing her to relax after the duty she has accepted as the caretaker for her father and me
The calderas the lava is flowing within are one huge one, 10 miles Cross, and a smaller one, about 5 miles across. From this point, I was within 1 mile of the erupting lava.
Mount Kilueau, the volcano that has been actively erupting for, more than the last 30 years! OurMilitary Camp was about 2 miles from the crater.
The palm tree uSed by the coconut cutter. He said it was a lot of work getting him up there.
Hula dancing and Palm Tree climbing. Fr some reason, the man at the top of the Palm refused to jump from tree to tree!
Live Music and dancers
Some may recognize the lady In Blue.
