Steve's Story
Post CMHS, three semesters at OCC. Drafted half way through third semester, enlisted for delayed entry, in July 1971. Basic training at Fort Ord, California, Then on to Fort Lee Varginia, for MOS training. On graduation, went directly to Fort Benning, Georgia, for paratrooper training. Stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, at HHC, 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne division. MOS Supply & Armour. Assigned as the Headquarters Company Armorer and Company Commander's Driver. Discharged in July 1974. 19 Dec 1974, then on to Bell/Saturation Diving, Class B/S-5, from 5 March 1975 to 13 May 1975. Worked in Louisiana the Summer of 1975. Switched career goals to medicine. Studied Respiratory Therapy at OCC. Graduated June 1979. Worked 8 years at Hoag Hospital. Then went to University of Oklahoma and graduated 1985 as Physician Assistant. Now working in Family Medicine in Vancouver Washington.
Married with two sons, Logan 27 and Lee 23. Logan is looking for a teaching position in Japan and Lee is at the Portland Art Institute studying grafic art and video game design.
