Steve's Story
Life
Hello everyone, I have been busy for the past 20 + years. After starting a family in NJ (getting married having 3 children) we moved around the country a bit having another child in KY and moving once again and finally to NC, having 2 more children here, if your counting yes thats 6 total, My wife Christie and I have 5 children together. My eldest son, Scott currently living in Florida with his mother and grandmother, next in line is Kayleigh 16, Jenna 14, Tristan 10, McKenna 7, and Xander 2 years. old. The family and I live in a small rural town, G a t e s NC. to all of you that might remember how TR was when you were 5 thats how things are here now. We have over 10 acres for the kids to ride motorcycles, horses, go carts, go shooting or just about anything they want. we have a small pond that we fish, from time to time.
I am a general contractor working in the residential & light commercial. In my spare time I like to go fishing, Drag racing, and of course always adding or changing my house now up to 4600 sq ft. Scott is in the ROTC and doing well, Kayleigh is my tennis star and a straight "A" student in the 10th grade on the honor roll every semester You know she gets that from me right... NOT ! Jenna, loves her Moto X and all of her sports that she dominates every position she plays. The other thing my girls are into are boys, "uh oh, wheres my gun". ha ha just kidding... NOT!. My son Tristan is my motor head he loves that sound of an engine even when he is blowing them up he says " I didn't do it. it wasn't built strong enough. or but dad it only does that when I want to go fast" He is saving up for a junior drag car. Mckenna my baby girl is in the first grade, just had her first sleep over I missed her that night. She is the equestrian (horse lover) in the family. She'll ride all day if you let her. She loves going to work with me, when I can take her. Xander hit his terrible twos early he loves to make a mess gets into any and everything he can.
I am very proud of my children no matter how much they drive me crazy. " hey dad where are we going ? Oh were going and you're driving.
DRIVING ME CRAZY THAT IS !
I am now getting ready for another season of youth football league that I happen to be the VP of. We are having a football camp with the pros coming in to present the camp at the end of the month (April) Last season was very trying, 3/4 of the team never even saw a football before. Even if we didn't finish well, we all had a great time.
I am also getting the boat ready for this season hopefully I'll get to do a little fishing (A lot I hope) this year.
Since high school I have stayed in touch with only a couple of you. From time to time when we visit NJ, about once a year, I ll run into some people I haven't seen in years. There are a few people I would like t...Expand for more
o hear from that I haven't seen or talked to since school or shortly there after. I blame myself for losing touch, for the late 80's were and sometimes still are a BLURRR. However the good times may have rolled we all moved on in our own directions. So If anyone would like to get caught up and or be a blast from the past, I do have a few questions like, What ever happened too ...? Don't let it be a second thought drop me a line anytime. Workplace
right out of school started working with my dad doing heavy construction, I then went into the army got out early for non conformity, I refused to go to Honduras. When I got out after only two and half years I had my own auto mechanic business for a while. went back into the family business building houses on L.B.I. At the same time I landed a part time job with Home Depot in Lakewood that led into a full time job taking us to Pennsylvania. Home Depot moved us around the country opening stores all over Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana and finally the south east Virginia market thats how we ended up in North Carolina. I opened so many stores I can't remember how many, at least 30 or so. I left Home Depot in 2000 to build my own house. While building my house, everyday or two someone would come up and ask who's the general contractor? At that time I come to find out that there were only a couple of contractors in the area and thats how I got back into general contracting. Now I do everything from light commercial work, new construction & renovations to general home repairs, hence the name of my company. We are looking into opening up a different business, soon I hope, we found some property for it how ever the current owner has no plans right now but we are wearing him down.
I am the Vice President of our local youth football league. Ages 8 - 13. I was nominated and voted in last year. I went into it thinking, sure I'll put in a few hours here and there, show up for a few meetings, how hard can it be? I think I put in more hours doing that than I did work last year. I also volunteer my services in and around the community. I don't have a lot of spare time for myself but that's life. I am sorry if anyone tried to reach me through this site, I have been busy getting new contracts with a national company to do there contracting for them. If I get 4 - 5 hours rest I am lucky. I guess I have plenty of time to rest when I am dead. Anyone my get a hold of me at general home repairs in North Carolina. Looking forward to hearing from you.
