Steve's Story
Moved around my whole life because my dad was in the Air Force. Ended up going to the US Military Academy as part of the class of '89. Saw Craig McCarthy (SHS '85) there.
I got kicked out of USMA in the middle of my Sophomore year (long story). I landed at UMASS Lowell and graduated on the "five year plan" in 1990.
I worked as a gov't contractor for the Navy and Army in the DC area for four years, then I moved out to San Francisco in 1994 to live with my girlfriend from Boston, Jane. We moved d...Expand for more
own to the Silicon Valley a couple of years after that to be closer to our jobs, then got married in 1996. Since I have been out here, I have been an network/internet consultant (this was before you edit HTML in MS Word), an engineer at Sun Microsystems, and held various product mgr roles, finally landing at NetApp in 2003.
Those are my shorties in the picture. Marina is 9 and Rory is 6. Those two are full of beans, for sure.
