Life
Graduated from MSU in 85', then went to Chicago to search out my professional destiny and the best happy hour specials. After a few years, armed with a technical B. of S. degree and business school propoganda swirling in my head, I decided to "Punt", and search out the Holy Grail elsewhere. I endured a year-long stint in the Himilayas with the Dahli Lama's cousin trying to discover the meaning of life, which then led me to work with the poor in the jungles of Nicaragua for the Peace Corps while I completed a mail-order MD degree. I then caught a rare disease that could be cured only by ancient Asian medicines, so I ventured to Quang-Tung China and immersed myself in center of this fascinating country and culture. To pay the rent while I was healing, I started a martial arts film career, playing the "Western" villain. and dancer, and as a consultant helping to translate the English. After several dozen low-budget Kung-Fu action films, my knees were not up to the physical grind. I had been moonlighting in a local restaurant as kitchen help, and was soon recognized as Quang-Tung's "Best International Chef." I eventually fully healed from the disease. I came to the realization that the Holy Grail I was seeking was not a physical or financial prize, but was the peace and contentment that I could find inside myself the whole time just like the Dahli Lama's cousin had tried to teach me. I returned to Chicago. I married my sweetheart in '92, and now have two adorable kids. I regularly cut the grass of my suburban house while I wear big baggy shorts, a white t-shirt, and an Ipod. I wash the crossover vehicle every third weekend in-between sips of an XXL Starbucks, I help strap on bike helmets, and pull dandelions. I train for 10K runs and lift iron to keep the good-life from taking refuge on my midsection.
Life is Good.
