Steve's Story
Life
After graduation in 1972, I spent the the next ten years working at Union Carbide in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. I was married to the former Sheila Henkel from Loretto. We were married until 1982. After my divorce, I worked as a bartender until 1985. At that time, I remarried and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where my lovely daughter, Christina Diane was born the next year, in 1986. While in Florida, I worked as a paint salesman for Glidden Paints covering all of the Gold Coast from West Palm Beach to Homestead, south of Miami. e Shoals and I enrolled in Shoals Community College for the Fall term in 1989. I graduated with honors in 1991 in the first graduating class from SCC. I transferred to Athens State College to continue my education. After graduation, again with honors, with a BS Degree in Elementary Education in 1993, I was hired by the Lauderdale County Board of Education to teach 6th grade at Waterloo High School. The next school year, I moved down to 5th grade. In June 1998, I enrolled in Graduate School at UNA and completed my Master's Degree in Educational Administration and graduated in December, 1999. As if I didn't have enough stress in my life, I just bought a new home in Florence and moved here June 1, 1999.
