Steve's Story
Life
HereÂs the rundown: Married for 22 years to Sandi Padilla. Got 2 great kids  Paul (22), Anna (20). I Work for Sunrise Community Church as their Worship Pastor. I'm very happy and feel extremely blessed. Music was my life in school and now I get to do it for a living! I play keys, guitar and sing. My wife sings, plays keys and bass. My son is a Videographer. And my daughter is a talented artist. We are a family of artist which makes us peculiar, but I wouldnÂt have it any other way. Now for the details:
I was mostly quiet through High School. Most people thought I was shy, yet I had no problem performing or speaking in front of large crowds. I later found out that I wasnÂt shy at all, just introverted. Meaning I do most of processing internally, not out loud like an extravert. So, like many others in high school, I thought there was a problem with the way I was. Turns out that I was made that way!
Anyway, I digress. I played in marching band, first as a trumpet player, and later as a percussionist. I played in a several rock bands during High School and one of them, ÂBarbara and the Jungle Studs won 1st place in SkipÂs Music Battle of the Bands in 1985.
After High School I went to American River to study music for a year and then moved to San Francisco to go to College of the Recording Arts. After graduating I married Sandi St...Expand for more
ephens in 1990.
I went to work for several recording studios in the Sac area and then moved to Seattle in 1996 to work for Bad Animals Recording Studios owned by Ann and Nancy Wilson of the rock group Heart. There I recorded groups like R.E.M., Presidents of the USA, Soundgarden, and others.
Even though I was having huge success, a commitment I made before I was married was finally catching up to me. In 1989 I decided to become a Christian and follow the teachings of Jesus. This life change not only strengthened my marriage and family, it also played into my career choices. In 1997 I left the recording business to become a Worship Pastor.
Since then I was hired as a keyboard player for Christian recording artist Lincoln Brewster. We toured the county all year round and got to sing and play concerts from small churches to stadiums full of people! I was also Music Director at Bayside Church in Granite Bay. Now I tour and make CDs with my wife as "Steve and Sandi". we lead worship around the country.
I still live in North Highlands where I bought a house right next door to my parents! My life is very similar to "Everyone Loves Raymond". My wife is also a talented musician and singer.
Overall, life's been pretty good to me and I've been blessed with a great family and a career I can truly enjoy.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
