Life
Rather than re-type the whole blasted thing, here's my professional bio:
STEVE PARSONS is a full time musical director at Carousel Dinner Theatre. For ten years, he was the resident musical director at The Players Guild of Canton, with 48 musicals and 64 total productions to date, including LES MISERABLES- The School Edition, TITANIC, 1776, GODSPELL, BAT BOY-The Musical, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, MOBY DICK, and OUR TOWN. Among SteveÂs other professional credits are The Ohio Shakespeare Company, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, The Illusion Factory and Weathervane Playhouse, providing music direction and/or accompaniment for such shows as MISS SAIGON, CATS, DisneyÂs BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, SMOKEY JOEÂS CAFÃ, SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM, ANYTHING GOES, 42nd STREET, THE HONKYTONK ANGELS and THE FANTASTICKS. Steve was the musical director, arranger and orchestrator for the workshop reading of the Grateful Dead musical CUMBERLAND BLUES, working closely with author Michael Mann and the DeadÂs lyricist Robert Hunter in creating the score. As a recording artist, Steve has collaborated with Stan Hinshaw, Benjamin Payne, Doug Katsaros, Martin Nielsen and In The Round Productions as songwriter, arranger, keyboardist, trumpet player, and vocalist. Currently, he is featured on the CDs ÂGlorious, ÂPrayers, and ÂEnter In, as well as Benjamin PayneÂs ÂReleased: Songs of Faith and Fury.Â
An active composer/arranger, Steve received his BachelorÂs and MasterÂs degrees in composition at Kent State University, and his works are heard throughout the US and Canada in festivals and competitions. His original concert pieces have been published by RBC Music, Inc. in San Antonio, TX and Secret Place Music in Greenville, SC.
SteveÂs additional credits include creating the new editions of the NUNSENSE and NUNSENSE A-MEN! scores for creator Dan Goggin, providing original music and arrangements for the hit video game College Slam, and performing as part of the ÂTickestra for the FOX animated television series THE TICK. He is also a consultant and contributor to the upcoming biography of legendary songwriter Stephen Schwartz.
