Steve's Story
Life
I have been happily married to my wife, the former Elizabeth Dugas of Gulfport, for 23 years; we met while attending college at the University of Southern Mississippi; we have three boys, Joseph, currently a junior at the University of Southern Mississippi; Adam, a junior at Ocean Springs High School, and Philip, in sixth grade at Ocean Springs Middle School. I am currently employed at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems as a senior software engineer.
Workplace
During my school years at OS I held two jobs, the first working at Gulf Islands National Seashore as part of the Youth Conservation Corps between my junior and senior year; during my senior year I worked weekends at the old Fort Bayou Fishing Camp. ool at the University of Southern Mississippi; after earning a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology I went to work at Alpha Optical Systems in Ocean Springs as a Coating Technician/Engineer; during this time I attended night classes at the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast and completed a Master's Degree in Computer Science in 1994; about the time I completed my Master's Degree Alpha Optical announced it was closing its doors and I accepted a position as a Software Engineer at Litton Data Systems in Pascagoula. I left there in 1999 for a position as a Field Application Engineer at Accelerated Technology in Mobile, AL; in 2003 I accepted a position with Computer Sciences Corporation in Pascagoula as an Aegis test engineer at Northrup Grumman Ship Systems; In 2004 I accepted my current position as a Senior Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems (formerly Litton Data Systems) in Ocean Springs.
