Steve's Story

Life I am an entirely different person than I was in high school and in more than just appearance. While we all change physically over the years, a careful study of the contrast between photogaphs from earlier years and recent years can provide a deeper insight into the depth of the non-physical transformation that many of us make. For instance, my "then" picture accurately captured the youthful awkwardness of the teenage years, the insecurity, the search for who I was intended to be and my bewilderment about life. In stark contrast, my "now" picture clearly shows a much more mature individual. He is confident, strong, resolute in his convictions, sure of who he is, what he wants, where he's going and how he's going to get there. Yes, I have changed, as I am sure we all have. Update 12/1/09 For those of you who actualy know me, you are fully aware that the profile pictures are not of me and are probably not surprised that I posted them. For now, I'll just provide a brief summary of my life since high school. I married Evelyn Record in 1972. We had three wonderful daughters (Stephanie in 1974, Angie in 1975 & Lauren in 1989). I worked for the state of Texas for 4 years, then went to work at General Dynamics / Lockheed and have now been there for 32 ...Expand for more
years. After a 27 year collegiate career, I received a degre in business from Dallas Baptist University. I had attended Cooke County Jr. College n Gainesville, Tarrant County Jr. College (all campuses open at that time), TCU and finally DBU. Encouraged by a my Business Law professor at DBU, I went to TWU Law School at night for 4 years while continuing to work full-time and ultimately received my JD degree. I have taken the bar exam twice, but have not passed it. Plans to take it again have been put on hold because of family obligations that have taken priority. I lost my father and my father-in-law, but we had 6 absolutely beautiful grandchildren. Stephanie & her husband Chad blessed us with Emily, Abby & Katy. Angie & her husband Casey gave us Gabriel, Nathaniel & Gavin. Nathaniel was Gabriel's twin brother, but we had him for only a short time. Even so, we are extremely thankful that every member of our family had the opportunity to hold him during his short life. The strength that Angie & Casey showed during that most difficult time (based upon their steadfast faith in God) was an inspiration to many others. Lauren, my youngest daughter, lives at home, works & attends college. We are enjoying our grandchildren more than ever. More later ....
