Steve's Story
Life
I have been in the Navy for just over 25 years. Ever since I graduated from high school. It's been a good life. I was going to retire but a pretty cool job came up so I put the whole retirement thing off for another couple of years. I will be home more though.
My family stayed in Bremerton while I was out exploring the world. I've been to the middle east and the far east. I can honestly say that all the stories you've heard of Thailand are true. I wrestled all through high school and neither of my two boys like to wrestle. At least not on an organized team. It's all good.
I always wanted to be a sailor. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
My inspiration comes from my boys. I continue to work so they can have what I never had when I was their age. They just want me home now. This new job allows me to be home and still travel on the rarest of occassions. About once or twice a month.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Shari Thayer, because she was so incredibly beautiful and one of the sweetest people I have ever known.
The teacher I would like to see again would be Don McCuiston just to say thanks. He gave me some help that I really needed at the time and I was never able to thank him. One day I will drive down to Onalaska to say thanks.
