Steve's Story
My Life Story:
As many of you, I have many ups and downs, but now mostly up.
Personal:
Re-married to Helen. Have 4 grown children; 2 girls, 2 boys. Daughters: Sarah, Law School (Texas Tech); and Kristen, Anthropology(ASU). Sons: Stephen, BS(math)+ BFA (art), Buffalo State, now Phd Candidate in Math/Computer Science at SUNY, Buffalo;
Davin, ASU, AS Fire Science, and BA due spring of 09. Three grandchildren: twins-7yrs, and 5yrs, all in living in Arizona. However, my fifth child and youngest daughter, Samantha, is now seven years old! What an absolute delight! Besides my family, much of the rest of my time away from work is consumed taking care of our home and keeping up with Samantha.
Home:
We live in a beautiful small town in New England , Amherst, NH. Our house is completely surrounded by the woods of New Hampshire! We have all sorts of wildlife around us which most recently included a moose I met at the end of my driveway, many wild turkeys, and occasional deer on our front lawn. Our neighbor recently had a Bear visit.
Activities:
Very active outdoors. Enjoy hunting (shooting spots) though Bambi couldn't be safer, fishing and camping at our camp on an island of Lake Champlain in Vermont. Unfortunately, I don't ski anymore. Otherwise very active with my youngest daughter, Samantha and thoroughly enjoy my surroundings and New England.
Professional:
I am recently, reemployed as an RF Systems Engineer/Architect for the Raytheon, Co. at their Headquarters in Tewksbury, MA. I am having the thrill of my life integrating two huge radar systems working with many other, mostly yo...Expand for more
unger engineers. Previously at BAE Systems (formerly Sanders, a Lockheed-Martin Co.) in the Nashua Area from which I am now retired. I continue to personally design large military microwave receiver systems associated with Radar and EW for use on Naval ships. Hold four US Patents and teach several courses in Radar and Microwave Receiver systems design to company engineers. Was honored with the election to the Association of Old Crows Electronic Warfare (EW), Technology Hall of Fame last October.
Education:
BS-Electrical Engineering, Colorado State ('74) and MS-Systems Engineering Johns Hopkins('04).
Additional Outside Activities:
Activities outside home and work:
Red Cross as Instructor Trainer in all levels of CPR/First Aid, Lifeguarding and Water Safety. Also active with the Boy Scouts and my church as Lay Reader and LEM. Elected to serve on church vestry.
My wife Helen and I are very active in our churches. She has worked with many local churches to establish a transitional home for homeless families, supported by most of the area churches. We often serve as hosts at the shelter, preparing dinner and as overnight shelter hosts (including Samantha)in a wonderful facility that used to be a Catholic, Nuns dorm / residence.
Invitation:
If you get to New Hampshire look us up. We always have at least one spare bedroom and a lot of extra room to spread out that we maintain for our company. We would like to hear from you and better yet have you visit us. I extend this invitation to you and any your children.
Please drop me an e-Mail if the spirit so moves you.
