steven's Story
I'm now residing in sunny southern California with my wife Liz and our wonder dog, Jake. All my kids are grown, gone and living in the midwest around Minneapolis and western Wisconsin. I spent several years designing and constructing for the film and video industry, primarily in Chicago where I also did several scenic and lighting designs for live theater and special events. My career took an interesting turn in 1998 when I was hired as an assistant construction manager for the residential sound insulation program in Chicago. from theater, film and video but a cousin put me up to it. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I don't care what the pictures look like.) I went from there to an architecture firm in Boston and did the same things for them on a national basis which got me to Seattle and eventually to San Diego to do more sound insulation work. I retired from the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority in January 2013 and for some strange reason the Newschool of Architecture + Design asked me to teach a couple of classes in Construction Management. Go figure. The official Oceanside bumper sticker sums up my reason for loving it out here, "Oceanside CA 72 and sunny."
