Steven's Story

Left OHS between JR/SR year. Totally bummed me out. I graduated from Lawrence U in 1978. Got married and joined the Catholic Church (my folks weren't real keen on that). Graduated from Hamline Law School in 1986. Had four boys (Chris 21, Matt 19, Mike 18 and Nick 12). My boys are all active in sports. Chris played college hockey at a small school in North Dakota and ended up winning 2 NJCAA National Championships. Matt plays lacrosse for the University of New England in Maine and has is eye on law school (desite my efforts to discourage it). Mike also attended UNE last semester, did very well, but decided to pursue his hockey career and is now playing Juniors Hockey for the Hudson Crusaders. Nick plays hockey, lacrosse and soccer. Lacrosse and the history channel are his favorite things. Military history is big with him. I practiced law (litigation) for a while in the Twin Cities and went to work for Thomson Reuters about 19 years ago. Remarkably, I have two patents with a third pending (anyone who knew my science skills should be amazed by this) an...Expand for more
d now do mergers/acquisitions and business development for a Thomson, a Fourtune 500 Company (anyone who knows my politics should be amazed by this). I have published a few things that no one reads except data publishing geeks. I wanted to write a book about life in the 70's but then "That 70's Show" beat me to the idea. My wife teaches at St. Bernards High School in St. Paul MN. She has been there since 1986. We moved my wife's parents from Milwaukee to an assisted living facility near us a couple years ago. We moved my folks (Rev Gerage and Mavis) up here from SC last month. I keep in touch with Jim Christensen. He works for a friend of mine in the catering business. Jim is a hell of a chef and still a great friend. I like my job, but would like to do something more meaningful before I retire. I suspect I will get the chnage to look for new work given the way companies let folks go these days! Still standing, but everyday is a new day to get laid off. I had a great group of friend at OHS and wouldn't mind learning more about their past 35 years.
