Steven's Story

In retrospect, I am not sure I want to be remembered as I remember myself. I am far happier with who I am today, than with who I was, or thought I was, at any point in High School or College. *************************** I love working outside in my garden, or walking in the woods, fishing by a cold rushing stream or prepping wood for the winter. No one bothers you when you split wood because they know there is always enough work for two. ***************************** Rural Vermont is a far cry from any part of New Jersey where I grew up and was educated. ctronic wonders, the basics of Vermont are the people. They are strong, sturdy people who look you in the eye, speak their mind and who are "true to their word". A native Vermonter has no need for a contract. Their handshake and their word is an iron clad guarantee of performance. Although it takes about three generations to be accepted as a Vermonter, I am far more comfortable being a "Flatlander" amongst them than I was being part of the Metropolitan Area Crowd. In the evenings, in summer, when my wife and I sit out on the deck overlooking our meadow, our dogs running and jumping to try and catch the lightning bugs as they flash on and off in the dusk, I realize that life is good and I am lucky to be here sharing the simplicity of it with my wife, my children, and my friends. --------SLKaneDDS at Yahoo
