Steven's Story
Life is pretty interesting for me.
I continue to play with my band, the Blue Mist and am fortunate in that I've been performing with two good friends since I was still in school. We've known each other longer than our respective spouses which leads to some interesting discussions. I couldn't imagine going on stage without them any more.
I always dreamed about traveling when I was a kid and I know some of my friends got tired of me talking about it. Well, I am sure making up for it now. I spent a semester abroad in Italy and then a summer in Germany while in college. I learned a lot both inside and outside the classroom during those travels.
I recently retired from IBM as an Executive Project Manager and Principal Data Scientist have had opportunities to travel around the world teaching people. I celebrated 36 years with IBM in September 2019. I never thought I would make it but am happy that I was able to finally retire! I've met a lot of great people throughout North America, Europe and South Africa through work. I've been married since 1991 and have 2 children that I am very proud of! They both have athletic and scholastic abilities that I sure never had. I try to be supportive rather than push them into things, but I guarantee you can hear me on the side-lines. I used to help out coaching some of their town-league sports but as they've grown older I've gotten involved with their school teams and have become the unofficial photographer of their events. They both ran Cross-Country and Track where they are both stand-out runners having won many awards. My biggest thrill was watching them win the State Championship as part of the 4X800M team. Watching one brother hand-off to another was my favorite moment. Not that they have graduated and moved on our relationship has changed as my cheering of their accomplishments is done in a different manner.
My wife is from Italy and thanks to her we all speak pretty good Italian. We also do a lot of traveling as a family thanks in part to her linguistic ability (Italian, French and Spanish) and the fact that her family lives in Italy.
Anyway, I'd love to hear from any old friends.
