This is the 11th time I have voted for a president, and always before, I voted for what I felt was the lesser of 2 evils. This man, I wanted to win more than anyone I had ever voted for.
Today, I thank GOD for my parents, who taught me not to look at a person as a certain color or background, but to look at every person just as a person.
I hoped and dreamed that someday I would see an African American elected president, and at times, I felt that dream would never come true. But today, while listening to Barack take the oath of office, I found myself unable to hold back the tears.
There are times when I am ashamed of the arrogance and greed of people in this country. But today is not one of those days.
I hope & Pray that Obama can help turn not only this country but the world around from this global recession/depression we are all in.
