Susan (Sue)'s Story
Life
After a lot of adolescent angst (to say the least) and a really rough time in my high school years, I went to West Valley where I earned an Associate Degree and then transfered to San Jose State where I earned a BA in Biological and Cognitive Psychology. Rather than persue a career in my field of study, I went to work for my dad's Data Processing company where I worked my way up the ranks. I took over the company in 2002. Currently, our main focus is on conversion and transmission of Banking files for large corporations. In the second part of my life, I would like to go back to college for degree and/or advance my studies in Psychology area. I'm very interested in Equine Assisted Therapy as well as scientific research.
I have a daughter who is 25. Thank goodness my parent's wishes didn't come true and she wasn't a horrible a teenager like I was! She has ADHD and had a difficult time in school, though. She went to Lynbrook, to Saratoga High for a while and then, like me, to Tw...Expand for more
ain. Twain was a good school for her. It was strange to be back on those campuses. She's out living on her own now and doing very well.
I spend most of my spare time with my horse up at Garrod Farms. I got into horses again when I bought my daughter her own horse when she was 13. The idea was to help with her ADHD and to keep her out of the malls and away from boys. It worked for the most part. When she was 16, and started driving, she lost some interest in the horse and I pretty much took over. I fell in love with horses all over again. It's been like a childhood dream come true. The ranch is my sanctuary.
My parents sold their house in Saratoga and now live seasonally between Carmel and Lake Tahoe. They also travel quite a bit. I never know where they are from one week to the next. My Dad is an avid golfer and has played courses all over the world. I do miss our house in Saratoga. Lots of memories there.
Feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I'd love to hear from my old friends.
