Susan's Story
Life
Married my high school sweetheart, Mark Mason (Northwood Class of 1970)in 1975; we're celebrating 37 years in October...and we're still very much in love. Still just an oldhippiechick at heart. Living in Columbia, MD for 28 years...does anyone remember taking a ride to Sewell's Orchard "back in the day" where you could pick apples and peaches, etc.? well I live across the street...it's no longer an orchard, that's for sure, but we have an apple tree in the backyard.
Mother of two sweet, wonderful sons...David Allen 10/16/81-7/31/01 (now 12 years since we lost our precious first born child...he died in a fall in Patapsco State Park...12 years is so hard). Zachary John came along on 10/28/84 - he's our pumpkin and gentle compassionate soul, and will be 28 in October and is producing and directing training videos. Mark has been a sports official for 40 years...baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball...and still running. I retired from the consulting firm Booz Al...Expand for more
len Hamilton on July 29th after 35 years, all in transportation (buses, subways, trolleys, light rail, trains, etc.). Have just joined CH2M Hill, the firm that bought Booz Allen's transportation business, so that's a new adventure.
Hi to all my Pinecrest and Eastern Jr. High buddies too...it's kind of cool to see all those familiar names. Love and Peace - Susie Brill (Brillopad, Brillcreme, thanks guys it still makes me laugh.
We miss David, our sweet, gentle, laughing, smiling, blue-green eyed son and big brother. "The pain of losing one so near, can only be cured by the memories we hold dear. The memories, which last forever. The memories, like the pleasant weather, brighten our days, with piercing rays. And give hope for the future, support in the present, but live in the past...our short lives are over so fast. The love is felt even when the being is gone, you can still hear the words at the end of the song. David - eternally ours, for our hearts are eternally yours."
