Susan's Story

Life I went to college (Grand Valley State) right after graduation and grew up there. I received my BS in Nursing and automatically started working at Beaumont as a staff RN on a surgical floor at the hospital. I had been there since being a nurse assistant co-op in my senior year. In 1983, I transferred to dialysis at Beaumont and have been there every since. I married in 1987 and have one child. He is 15 years old now and a great kid! We have a zoo here at the house(a playful beagle ...Expand for more
puppy, a russian blue cat, a dutch rabbit, and parakeet). My son takes after me in his love for animals. In 2005, I divorced my husband after many years of trying to make something work that shouldn't have (other than for our son). I met a wonderful man in January 2006 and in August we were married in Maui right on the ocean - it was a dream come true! I can honestly say I have never been happier in my life! I feel like I'm starting over and its a wonderful chapter in my book of life!

Here comes our winter storm up north! Love it!
Well our first winter storm has finished. The snow/rain/ice/ wind has ended. Power still out. Thank god for our generator and my wonderful husband for hooking it up! The poor trees are hanging. We are living off the grid!

It is hard to believe ...7 years ago today we lost this wonderful man! Dad I miss you so much! Thank you for being such a great dad and grandpa and great grandpa! We all loved you much!😘
